Lazy Saturday

I stayed home all day with Snorty McDoggelsson today, as he's still recovering from his heartworm treatment. My friend Cathy invited me to come up to the city for her birthday celebration. I wanted to go but begged off since I have a patient to take care of.

So basically we were both bored silly all day. I tried to entertain him as best I could, without getting him too excited, but it was obvious that he wanted to go outside and play. He seemed pissy, because all he did was lay down on the floor, out of my reach, and look at me with his sad puppy eyes. LOL.

While Sheddy lay around, I cleaned my room up a bit and threw some stuff out. I've decided to slowly but surely get rid of as much junk and useless stuff as I could before the end of the year. Clearing the space under my bed, as well as all the papers on my desk, I was able to throw out two bagsful of detritus today.

I also played around with my new iPod (latest 30GB model, black). I kept playing Pinoy songs and singing along. My roommate probably didn't appreciate having to listen to me singing at the top of my lungs while I had headphones on (which of course meant that my normally bad-sounding singing sounded completely horrible). But you know what? I don't give a crap. What is it they say?
Dance like nobody's watching, love like you've never been hurt, sing like nobody's listening.
Or something like that.

Made a huge pot of nilagang baboy (boiled pork with veggies), using a recipe I found online. It turned out really well, now that I actually have patis (fish sauce). About a year ago I tried to make some using only salt because I was too lazy to go to the supermarket to get patis. That attempt didn't turn out well at all. This evening's nilaga was good. I've got enough for several meals. I used pork, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, and lots of peppercorns. Yum.

Got a haircut, went to the vet for some dog meds, went to PetSmart for some pill pockets. Other than that, I didn't do much else. Paid lots of attention to the dog and watched lots of TV. Took a few dog pics using my cell phone. Napped.

Speaking of nap, time for my overnight one. Don't forget that tomorrow (Sunday) we're back on Standard Time. Fall back, people! Fall back!
